The Distribution Playbook.

VerdictLabX's content is designed to be discovered, not promoted. This document describes how editorial work on the main site is repackaged across YouTube, Reddit, Quora, and Medium — always as genuinely useful content, never as promotion. No automation. No spam. No fake engagement.

Section 01

Operating principles

Be useful first, visible second. If a response would not help without a link, it would not help with one either.

Reference the main site only where it meaningfully improves the answer for the reader.

Never use the same copy across platforms. Each channel has a different audience, rhythm, and reader expectation.

Do not engage in upvote exchanges, reciprocal shares, or any form of artificial amplification.

Section 02

YouTube & Short Video

Condense a 15-minute comparison article into a 60–90 second decision video that respects the viewer's time.

Approved formats
Top 3 X in 2026
Three picks, one winner, 75 seconds. No voice-over hype.
Best X under $100
Budget-constrained video for deal-aware viewers. Lead with tradeoffs.
X vs Y — which should you buy?
Direct comparison format. Announce the pick in the first 5 seconds.

Rules of engagement
  • ·No clickbait thumbnails. The title is the thumbnail.
  • ·Disclose the methodology link in the description, not the opening.
  • ·Link to the corresponding VerdictLabX article in the description, not the first comment.
Section 03

Reddit

Answer real questions from real communities in a way the subreddit moderators would consider good-faith participation.

Approved formats
Long-form helpful answer
Read the full thread, add material context, recommend only what is relevant. Reference the main site only if the methodology or data meaningfully strengthens the answer.
"What I wish I knew" post
Retrospective-format posts that teach a subreddit something new — no product pitching.
Example response
"I've spent a few months in this category and the honest answer is that 'best' depends heavily on the noise you're trying to block. For steady HVAC-type noise the Sony XM6 is hard to beat; for comfort over eight hours the Bose QuietComfort Ultra is still the benchmark. If you want the methodology, we wrote up our full rubric here [link], but the short version is: if budget matters, the Soundcore Q45 is the only sub-$150 pair I'd recommend without a caveat."
Rules of engagement
  • ·Always check subreddit self-promotion rules before linking.
  • ·Never post the same answer in two subreddits.
  • ·If the top comment already answers the question well, don't post.
Section 04

Quora

Build topical authority through structured, high-signal answers on product decision questions.

Approved formats
Structured comparison answer
Short intro, clear ranking, one-line justification each, final verdict. Footnote the source.
Criteria-first answer
Explain how to decide before recommending. Teaches the reader to evaluate, not just to buy.
Answer template
  1. Short-answer summary (2 sentences max)
  2. Criteria that matter for this decision (3–5 bullets)
  3. Top candidates ranked with one-line rationale each
  4. Final recommendation with a caveat or context
  5. Attribution link to source article or methodology, placed at the end
Rules of engagement
  • ·No answer under 400 words. Short answers perform badly on Quora and aren't useful anyway.
  • ·No identical answers across questions. Rewrite for the specific question each time.
Section 05

Medium & Long-Form Articles

Publish educational essays that complement — rather than duplicate — the main site's product comparisons.

Approved formats
Buying framework essays
Long-form explanations of how to think about a category (e.g., 'How to buy an office chair without overpaying').
Methodology deep-dives
Explain how VerdictLabX tests a category, including what we got wrong in prior reviews.
Article outline
  1. Hook: a single counter-intuitive observation
  2. The common mistake most buyers make
  3. The framework that fixes it (3–5 named criteria)
  4. Worked example applying the framework
  5. Reference to the VerdictLabX article only if the reader would want it after finishing
Rules of engagement
  • ·Never re-publish a VerdictLabX article on Medium verbatim. Canonical tags or distinct content only.
  • ·One link to VerdictLabX per Medium article, placed naturally in context.
Never do this

Antipatterns

If you catch yourself doing any of the below, stop. These behaviors erode trust faster than any distribution can build it.

  • Posting the same comment template across multiple subreddits.
  • Buying YouTube views, Reddit upvotes, or Quora followers.
  • Using accounts exclusively to link to the main site.
  • Reposting VerdictLabX content to Medium with only a link back.
  • Asking readers to "check out our site" in video intros.
